Well, well, well... The EHL has delivered YET again. As the dust settles on yet another thrilling Euro Hockey League tournament, let’s look back as Europe’s elite descended on the iconic setting of HC 's-HertogenboschFrom the very first pushback, the standard was set. We had early round clashes that brought intensity and unpredictability, while the knockout stages raised the stakes even higher - delivering dramatic finishes, shootouts, and moments of sheer individual brilliance. As always, the Grays Hockey Stick Range was right at the heart of the action. 

With nearly 50 Grays Hockey athletes competing across both the men’s and women’s competitions, Grays was a huge driving force at the very highest level of the game. From defenders making crucial tackles to forwards delivering decisive goals, Grays Hockey athletes played key roles throughout the tournament - ultimately contributing to six women and one men’s player lifting the EHL trophy, 3 silver and 2 bronze medalists.  

 

1. SCHC Run Riot  Dominate Performances Secure EHL Glory – Women's FINAL12 Recap 

The expanded FINAL12 format delivered an exciting and highly competitive women’s tournament, with Europe’s top clubs battling through six days of elite hockey at HC 's-Hertogenbosch. The opening day set the mark high, with a series of overpowering performances. EHL debutants Watsonians HC kicked off their European journey with an emphatic 6-1 victory over Irish side Railway Union HC – with 12 athletes taking to the pitch backing the Grays Hockey 25/26 Hockey Stick Range. Gantoise HC made an immediate statement with a routine 9-0 victory over SK Slavia Prague, as Grays Hockey ambassadors Hannah McLoughlin (JB8) and Anne-Sophie Vanden Borre (DB9+) produced standout performances for the Belgian side German powerhouse Mannheimer HC, led by Grays Stine Kurz who backs the PB10, were made to work for their first win after a spirited first half performance from Reading HC, who eventually succumbed to a 4-0 opening day defeat. SCHC were as dangerous as ever as they brought day one to a close with a thrilling 6-1 victory over Spanish side Club Egara.  

 

As the tournament progressed, the competition tightened. Gantoise HC suffered a shock exit after a 0–0 draw with Club Campo de Madrid, with the Spanish side holding their nerve in the shootout. Hosts HC 's-Hertogenbosch underlined their credentials with a dominant 6-0 win over Watsonians, while Mannheimer HC and SCHC continued their momentum with convincing wins to reach the latter stages. The semi-finals delivered everything the EHL promises. In front of a packed, electric crowd, HC 's-Hertogenbosch lit up the stadium with a clinical 5–1 win over Club Campo de Madrid, sending the home fans into full voice – with Grays athletes Kim Peters (AC900 Probow-S) and Romee Joosten (DB10), both playing pivotal roles in their side’s dominance. Moments later, SCHC produced a performance of control and precision, shutting out Mannheimer HC 3–0 to set up a blockbuster final. In a fierce, high-intensity battle between the tournament’s two best sides, SCHC found the decisive moment, edging HC 's-Hertogenbosch 1-0 to be crowned European champions - sparking scenes of celebration after a flawless run to the title.  

Massive congratulations to our EHL title winning ambassadors Lisa Post & Naomi Brunsveld (JB9), Lotte Ruts (PB7), Mette Winter & Elzemeik Zandee (DB10), Famke Richardson (JB8) and Noa Boterman (JB10). As well Kim Peters (AC900 Probow-S), Romee Joosten (DB10) and Stine Kurz (PB10) for all taking home medals.  

 

2. Kampong Deliver The Drama – Mens FINAL8 Recap  

The men’s FINAL8 spoilt us hockey fans with a serious spectacle... Europe’s very best delivered us a whirlwind of entertainment, with high-quality, high-pressure matches throughout the knockout competition – edge of your seat kind of atmosphere!  

The quarter-finals began with Gantoise HC securing a strong 3–1 win over Old Georgians HC, while Club Campo de Madrid, and Grays athletes Quique Gonzalez (DB10) and Alvaro Morales (DB10+), impressed with a 3–1 victory against Surbiton HC. The much-anticipated AH&BC Amsterdam delivered a commanding 4–1 win over Hamburger Polo Club, while SV Kampong progressed after a dramatic 4–4 draw (shootout win) against Crefelder HTC  arguably the game of the tournament!  

 

As the tournament moved into the semi-finals, Gantoise HC held their nerve as they edged a tight contest, defeating Club Campo de Madrid 3–2, while SV Kampong – powered by Dutch star Derck de Vilder (DB10), produced a standout performance to overcome Hoofdklasse rivals AH&BC Amsterdam 3–2. 

The final brought together two of the tournament’s most consistent sides. In what was an end to end, high-quality and closely contested match, SV Kampong defeated reigning title holders Gantoise HC 3–2 to be crowned EHL champions. Massive congratulations to our EHL title winning Derck de Vilder (DB10), silver medallist Thibault Deplus (DB10), and bronze medal winner Karst Timmer (JB10).
